Dix & Eaton Website Redesign

Dix & Eaton is a Public Relations firm located in downtown Cleveland where I worked from 2014–2019. In 2018, we decided as an organization to update our web presence. Our website at the time was showing its age, and lacked the ease and search functionality an online corporate portfolio needed.

The initial planning stages are critical for any successful website project. Websites are more than just a visual web presence; they represent crux of any organizations brand experience. Thoughtful organization, appropriate functionality, and an easy to use interface are critical for effective use experience. As a design team, we worked together to research and identify what D&E’s strategic, functional and architectural needs were. Using that insight, we agreed a site map that fit our needs.

Building A Blueprint With Wireframes

Sketching

Sketch, a Mac based program popular in web development, was our primary web design tool. Using Sketch, I brainstormed dozens of ways to add our brand to the wireframes we created. During this phase I made sure to keep a non-destructive workflow; I would duplicate pages so I could effectively compare and contrast differences between layouts and find what was most effective.
